Tell us about yourself (current profession/organization, what has been your motivation behind helping others, and how you impact the world each day)

Currently working as a Clinical Supervisor providing crisis response services to individuals who are experiencing acute psychiatric crisis and/or emotional distress. Mental health treatment is important for our overall wellbeing. My motivation comes from seeing individuals, specifically, people of color, find access to mental health and substance use treatment.

How have your personal goals and aspirations served as an example of how one accomplishes and sustains true success in life?

Self discovery was important as I was pursuing my undergraduate degree. Coming from , what I perceive to be , a sheltered environment, I was not afforded the opportunity to really get to know who I was or able to identify my professional and personal goals. Understanding who I was, as a person, helped me develop my life plan.

What challenges can you share with others that you have experienced to getting where you currently are professionally?

Overcoming racism in the workplace and healing from the exposure has allowed me to expand my professional network.

How has those challenges benefited your strides towards success and commitment to community?

Expanding my network afforded me the opportunity of meeting subject matter experts within my field.

What encouragement can you offer to our readers who may be aspiring educators regarding the empowerment of success, endurance, leadership, and the power of mentoring?

Simple saying I live by today: Encourage yourself to be the best person you can be. Others will follow suit.
